Congratulations to Trevor Fisher and his crews of Emily (Saturday) and Elaine (Sunday). They won the Wayfarer Irish Inland Championships at Cullaun Sailing Club on the weekend of 3rd/4th September 2016

Both Emily and Henry had to retire after Saturday’s racing leaving Elaine free to crew for Trevor, (a match made in heaven if ever I saw one) which proved to be right….well done you three. Second place was Monica Schaefer from Greystones Sailing Club and third was John Turner from Ramor Watersports Club.

We all had a fantastic weekend with exceptional hospitality from Mike and Maureen Hayes who had nineteen….yep 19 staying overnight in their chocolate box pink thatched cottage and serving a fried breakfast to everyone on both mornings.

Unfortunately Donnellon’s pub which has been the unofficial clubhouse of the sailing club shut it’s doors for the last time the day after we left…..no it wasn’t because we wrecked the place!!! so an end of an era for the club.

There are loads of photos on the Cullaun website for those interested especially some very tense faces on myself and Margie as we came first in the last race beating John Turner by 0.5 of a second….now that’s close racing.
