On Tuesday morning 11 Oct 2016 at approximately 09:00 am, two flights of geese flew over the clubhouse heading SE towards Portaferry in a light Easterly 10 kn wind. The flights were separated by about two minutes, accompanied by considerable geese noise and just two photographs of each flight were obtained. The first photo incorporates the club flag pole, distinctively locating the picture. The first flight appearing more organized with the distinctive V formation and appeared to have in the region of 100 geese – count the specks if you are interested.
This represents another indication of the season change at the club and welcomes autumn firmly, with a reminder of the uniqueness of our surrounding natural habitat. If you have any information on this natural activity just drop the secretary a paragraph which we may share with our WEB and members.
It was also the day when we pulled out the committee boat with a high tide at 09:30.
