Strangford Lough Racing Cruiser Association was formed in 1973 by a group of like minded sailors to promote racing of cruising boats both inside the lough and offshore, and to encourage cooperation between clubs in the lough and co-ordination of racing.
EDYC hosted a race on 16 September 2018:

- Approximately 40 sailors came ashore and enjoyed a reception in the Holm Bay Bar.

The “Round The Lough Series” runs over five Sundays. Racing is a round the cans course with a time limit of 2hrs 30 mins.
There are five classes are IRC1, IRC2, NHC1, NHC2, NHC Restricted sail.
Races are hosted by a different club each week. Clubs provide bar and catering facilities for competitors after racing so come ashore and enjoy the “apres race” craic and prize giving. The clubs generously sponsor a bottle for the winner of each class on the day’s racing.
