On Sunday 4 August 2019, East Down Yacht Club will host the Strangford Lough Youth Series. This is a fun, friendly event encouraging young sailors to take part in racing. The day before, Saturday 3 August is the East Down Yacht Club regatta.

The 2019 series started in June at Quoile Yacht Club with 40 boats on the water; the second and third events were in July at Strangford Sailing Club, with 38 boats and then Killyleagh Yacht Club. EDYC hosts the the fourth event and the following week Strangford Lough Yacht Club host the fifth and final 2019 event.

The series has been running for eleven years and is designed to encourage participation from young sailors.

Sailing Instructions will be provided verbally on the day at the briefing ashore; the intention is to run three short races.
