On the weekend of 27th/28th of May 2023 the shores of Strangford lough will witness a different event, An event with Impalas and Sonatas which will race one design classes over 2 days with a possible 5 races in total.

The Sonata is a well-known and much-loved cruiser racer with small fleets all around the country.

The Impala is a one-design yacht racing and one of the most active UK classes. It is a 28-footer.

There are several Sonatas and Impalas in Strangford Lough and  a combined racing event is being planned by East Down Yacht Club – EDYC.
