A leaden sky didn’t deter our intrepit sailors from joining the Commodore’s cruise to Strangford Sailing Club on Sunday 1st Sept.
At least 15 EDYC boats made the trip with a further group traveling to SSC by car.
In total over 65 adults and at least 10 children enjoyed the BBQ, some relaxation and chat.
The children were later entertained with a variety of games.
As with last year Strangford Sailing Club were very hospitable with BBQs ready and the clubhouse open.
By 3.30 the tide was receding fast and it was a race to tidy the the BBQ area and get everyone back out to their boats before the quay became inaccessible to the RIB.
Once everyone was aboard it was a slow, thanks to the outgoing tide, but enjoyable return journey to our club.
During the afternoon a collection was made for the RNLI.
