The club has planned for and is seeking your family support for the club to train juniors, towards the Honda RYA Youth RIB 2018 championship. We will run a club heat with Ages 8-12 and 13-16 years.

The club have previously prepared youth for this competition. A young Feckis and a young Wright both gained placings but that is in club history now. We have not entered in recent years, due to a very active early season. This year (2018) will be different.
The plan to advance this project has evolved – coming down to training in April and early May – weekly . (both formal and informal sessions)

NI Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship Heat is scheduled to be in Belfast as part of the maritime festival on Saturday 19th May
While the competition is a target, as part of the training the RYA Powerboat Level I certificate and syllabus will be involved. Thus setting the topics and levels to be attained along with competition driving. A good structure and introduction will be provided as well as a recognized qualification, since we all may not become champions.
RYA Powerboat Level 1 Training
RYA Powerboat Level 1 training courses, for 8 years old upwards, provide training for RIB drivers. On this first step in the RYA powerboat training scheme you will learn how to, launch from a trailer, prepare for sea and safely coxswain a small powerboat or RIB by day.
