EDYC AGM Report Dec 22
The club held its 56th AGM via Zoom on Sunday 4th December 2022 and attended to the normal AGM business including election of officers and hearing reports. The meeting was chaired by the Commodore Stephen Dow. Some resolutions were considered, discussed and voted upon.
Around 56 people registered to attend the meeting and several apologies were received. Attendance was in the order of 47 digital devices, with some families sharing the same device.
The main office bearers for the next year were elected unopposed and while we have not publicly published all the AGM papers (some approx. 10 pages) here is a brief insight. The papers were sent to all members via email.
Commodore Keith Carr (moving up from last year’s vice -commodore)
Vice Commodore Liam Kelly (Moving up from RC sailing last year)
Secretary Alan Wood (staying in post from last year)
Other major posts
Rear Commodore Sailing John Patterson
Sailing Captain Gina Little
The main resolution from the Executive Committee was a wish to increase membership fees by 7%. This was carried. An adjustment has been made to one of the smaller classes of membership and this will be published in the new rules and schedules.
Finally the EDYC Executive Committee proposal to update the existing Code of conduct to include Social Media (Facebook, Whats App, YouTube, Instagram and the Club Website etc) was also passed.
Under AOB – a member promoted a forthcoming RYA First Aid Course (early 2023), those interested should contact the sailing committee.
In addition – a member reminded all of the requirement to name all their equipment being left at EDYC, especially trailers, yachts, dinghies, tenders – see rules 47 and 49 (a). Moorings should have a buoy with a visible name to assist management.
