Club Conference on Racing including RO Training at EDYC 12 April 23 and 18 April 23

We had a very successful series of Zoom meetings (pre last season) named Club Conferences, at which we ran through all our Race Officer / Race Management details for our club races – including RO Training.

We will again do this.

The dates are to be :-

Wed 12th April (Easter Wed) and

Tue 18th April ( a Tue to give alternative week day) –

this will be delivered by Zoom details later.

Starting at 19:30 and lasting approx. one hour

Contact Gina Sailing Captain  – Gina gina_lyttle@hotmail.com -for your Zoom link information

This is aimed to suit all competitors and race officers.

A major change is the flags used and their halyard system, the image below will illustrate.

On a more practical level – The committee boat will appear like this

Within the downloads section of the EDYC web site we now have the following –

2023 Information

The EDYC club races Notice of Race – link

The EDYC club races Sailing Instructions – link

EDYC club racing courses v1 – link

EDYC Racing Marks Chart – link

The 2023 EDYC Sailing Calendar – link to download

Thus we have a firm basis allowing members to see how we race, when we will race, where we will race and all details for club race activity.

We have scheduled race officer training (RO Training) at 19:30 for Wed 12th April (Easter Wed) and Tue 18th April ( a Tue to give alternative week day) – this will be delivered by Zoom details on request from Gina.

The training is not compulsory, anyone not having the specific time to attend the zoom is welcome to study the docs and ask email questions if any arise.

Several may feel they can understand the race management directly from the documents and may omit the Zoom attendance.

Obviously the Sailing Committee wish to assist anyone and everyone understand, use and enjoy our racing system at EDYC – feel free to contact the Sailing Captain if you have any difficulty.

The Zoom sessions are intended to be informal and interactive.
